The direction comes after Justice M Nirmal Kumar Tiruvannamalai imputed to Judicial Magistrate-1, who passed an order on a pre-typed format, which had blank columns, which were later filled by handwriting.

The Madras High Court has directed the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Tiruvannamalai to conduct an inquiry into the manner in which orders were passed by a local magistrate. The direction comes after Justice M Nirmal Kumar Tiruvannamalai imputed to Judicial Magistrate-1, who passed an order on a pre-typed format, which had blank columns, which were later filled by handwriting.

The judge said the order passed by JM-1 on January 22 this year has to be probed by the CJM and how many such orders have been passed by him earlier. A report has to be filed in this regard on or before June 22. Earlier, the judge pointed out that the order passed on January 22 in a criminal case is a strange thing that it has been given in a printed format. Some of the details are filled in by hand and some are already typed.

At the same time, the Madras High Court has sought a report from the state on the COvid-19 deaths. The court says that through accurate reports, those people who are expecting relief can be helped. According to the information, while hearing a PIL on Friday, the Madras High Court has asked the state government to submit a preliminary report on the deaths of Covid patients in the state by June 28.
