TN to provide 7 5 reservation for govt students in professional courses News Today

Chennai: The Tamilnadu government has decided to provide 7.5 per cent reservation for government school students in other professional/technical courses as has been done in medical admissions. A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the State Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister M K Stalin at the State Secretariat here. It was also decided in the meeting that a Bill to implement the 7.5 per cent reservation for government students in other professional courses would be tabled in the budget session beginning on 13 August. This will be in line with the 7.5 per cent horizontal reservation being given for government students in medical admissions as per the recommendations of the Justice Murugesan Commission.
