OPS vs Sasikala: We will strive hard till our last breath to make Chinnamma the Tamil Nadu CM

"Sengottaiyan denied media reports that he would be the chief minister of Tamil Nadu following dissent over Sasikala's candidature. "This morning we gave another letter to the Governor (seeking appointment to parade MLAs supporting Sasikala). We will strive hard until our last breath to make her the chief minister of Tamil Nadu," he said.When asked what would be next course of action as their leader clearly registered her impatience in the letter submitted to the Governor on Saturday, he shot back saying, "Wait and see. We will wait till tomorrow evening for Governor's action," said the Gobichettipalayam MLA.Sengottaiyan maintained that "Chinnamma is only chief ministerial candidate of the party" as far as the AIADMK legislators were concerned. "She was unanimously elected as the legislature party leader, and she must occupy the top post.

CHENNAI: Former minister K A Sengottaiyan declared that AIADMK legislators will strive hard till their last breath to make party general secretary V K Sasikala the chief minister of Tamil Nadu Speaking to reporters as Sasikala held discussions with the party MLAs, who have been staying at Golden Bay Beach Resort at Koovathur near Mahabalipuram, Sengottaiyan said Chinnamma , who was unanimously elected as the legislature party leader, gave a letter of support of the MLAs to Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao on February 9 staking claim to form the government."This morning we gave another letter to the Governor (seeking appointment to parade MLAs supporting Sasikala). We will wait till tomorrow evening for Governor's action," said the Gobichettipalayam MLA.Sengottaiyan maintained that "Chinnamma is only chief ministerial candidate of the party" as far as the AIADMK legislators were concerned."She was unanimously elected as the legislature party leader, and she must occupy the top post. MLAs have expressed solidarity with Chinnamma. If we live, we will live for Chinnamma. "Media spreads false reports. It is not a healthy trend," he said.He also denied reports that AIADMK legislators had been confined at a luxurious resort against their will. "It is far from truth. Even police have made an inquiry in this against and found it baseless," he said.Sasikala, who arrived at the beach resort around 4pm, left at 7pm after meeting the MLAs.
