OPS vs Sasikala: AIADMK Mylapore MLA Nataraj says he is in his office, discharging his duties to people

CHENNAI: Amid the turmoil in the AIADMK , Mylapore MLA Nataraj assured the people in his constituency through a Facebook post that he was in his MLA office at Mylapore and that anyone can visit him. I am sure you all know about me by now and I would never take a break from discharging my duties towards Mylapore. "I am not anywhere else as has been wrongfully claimed by a few people in social media. His office was busy with several visitors. There is so much work to do, not just for me but for all of us.

I am sure you all know about me by now and I would never take a break from discharging my duties towards Mylapore. I would also like to clarify as regards my duties as an MLA vis-a-vis the current situation," the AIADMK legislator said.Without taking the sides of either chief minister O Panneerselvam or party general secretary VK Sasikala , he assured people of his constituency that he will always be a public servant and that his duties and responsibilities lie in Mylapore to fulfil the mandate and trust reposed by the people.The MLA said he continues to discharge his duties even with the current political situation. "Yes, I am keeping away from abusive phone calls. There is so much work to do, not just for me but for all of us. I don't want to be distracted from my main mission, just because a handful of people decide to play petty politics," he said.Nataraj said he was listening to the views and suggestions from people in the constituency on political matters. "I wish to clarify that my decisions will only be backed by reason and logic. I have a responsibility of representing three lakh of Mylapore constituency, and I must make an informed decision after listening to the public, ensuring and securing the best for Mylapore constituency- its infrastructural and local area developmental needs, administrative expectations and grass root requirements," he said.He ended the post with a quote from Robert Frost's poem, "The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep," he said.In a few hours, thousands of people shared his post, liked it and commented. His office was busy with several visitors.
