more-in A 19-year-old mentally-challenged girl was allegedly strangled to death by her father at their residence in Nerkundram on Wednesday. According to police, A. Kausalya, was the daughterof Adikesavan and Mohana. The couple also has a son, who is a B.Com student in a private college. Kausalya was mentally-challenged from birth and suffered epileptic attacks often. On Wednesday morning, Kausalya suffered another epileptic attack and tore her dress. Saddened over such repeated incidents, Adikesavan, strangled her with a nylon rope. He then surrendered before the Koyambedu police station. The body was sent for post-mortem to the Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital. During investigation, police found that Adikesavan and Mohana had separated nine years ago. Mohana was working in a private special school in the city and admitted Kausalya to the same school so that she could take care of her. Ajit is staying with Adikesavan. On September 13, Mohana had left Kausalaya at Adikesavan’s house and left the city. The reason is not yet known. As she started to throw things at home and tear her dress, Adikesavan went and dropped her at his brother-in-law’s place. However, they left her back at Adikesavan’s house a few days ago. “He was sad and angry seeing Kausalaya’s behavior and in frustration murdered her,” said a police officer. Adikesavan was arrested.
