more-in The Local Planning Authority (LPA) has given in-principle regularisation for 314 unapproved layouts identified by Coimbatore Corporation. This is part of the regularisation scheme announced by the government and which will end next month. When an individual applies for regularisation of the unapproved plot, the scheme requires the unapproved layout to be regularised before the individual sites are regularised. A Corporation official said that it has identified 684 unapproved layouts in the city and shared the details and sketches of the layouts with the LPA. In a move to encourage and expedite regularisation of unapproved sites, the LPA has given in-principle regularisation to 314 of these recently. More layouts will be regularised shortly, the official said. Public can know the details of layouts regularised either from the website of Coimbatore District LPA or from the Corporation office. They can apply online for regularising the unapproved site and if it is in the layout already regularised, the process will be simpler and the approval will be provided within the stipulated time period. Local officials of the Corporation will conduct camps to encourage more people to apply for regularisation of the unapproved plots. Most of the layouts recently regularised are in Saravanampatti, Veerakeralam, Koundampalayam, Thudiyalur, Vilankurichi and Kalapatti. The added areas will benefit more, the official added.
