Coimbatore City Traffic Police said the incident took place when a tipper lorry moving backwards hit the drum placed on the flyover. This led to traffic jam and commotion on 100 Feet Road for a while. In the impact of the lorry ramming the drum, the lid burst off pushing out bitumen, which fell on five cars that were passing by on the service road.
