23-year-old man dies as bike rams AIADMK MLA’s car from behind

Coimbatore: A youth was killed after the motorcycle he was riding rammed the car of Uthangarai MLA Manoranjitham Nagaraj from behind at Rayakottai flyover in Krishnagiri on Sunday evening. Venkatesh was admitted to the government hospital with the injuries.Krishnagiri taluk police have registered a case and further investigation is on. At the time of the incident, the AIADMK MLA was not travelling in the car, police said.Based on the complaint lodged by the pillion rider, who escaped with minor injuries, police have registered a case against the MLA’s car driver.The deceased was identified as R Rajeshkumar, 23, of Bengaluru. As their helmets were not locked properly, the two sustained head injuries.Rajeshkumar was rushed to the government hospital in Krishnagiri, where doctors declared him brought dead. He was employed with a hardware shop in his native place.

According to police, the accident took place when Rajeshkumar and his friend Venkatesh, 23, also from Bengaluru, were heading towards a temple in Dharmapuri on their motorcycle.When the duo reached Rayakottai flyover in Krishnagiri, Rajeshkumar lost control over the motorcycle, which hit the MLA’s car from behind. In the impact, the duo was thrown off the motorcycle. As their helmets were not locked properly, the two sustained head injuries.Rajeshkumar was rushed to the government hospital in Krishnagiri, where doctors declared him brought dead. Venkatesh was admitted to the government hospital with the injuries.Krishnagiri taluk police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
