Migrant worker murdered

A migrant worker from Bihar working at a hollow-block manufacturing unit at Vanjipalayam was found murdered on Sunday. Motorist killedM. Vanchinathan (28) was killed in an accident involving his vehicle and a private bus at Uttukuli on Monday morning. The police said that four bus passengers, who were injured in the accident, were rushed to the Tirupur government hospital. The injured were rushed to hospitals in Avinashi, Tirupur and Erode, said the police who have registered a case. As he said that he did not have money, the duo pushed his friend from a culvert.

According to police, the incident occurred when Manjhi and his friend while returning home was intercepted by two persons on a motorcycle and threatened Manjhi at knife-point to part with money. As he said that he did not have money, the duo pushed his friend from a culvert. When Manjhi questioned its action, they stabbed him with the knife and fled the place. Motorist killed M. According to the Uttukuli police the incident happened on the road over bridge across the railway track near Thimmanaickenpalayam when Vanchinathan swerved in front of the bus. To avoid hitting Vanchinathan, the driver of the bus proceeding from Erode to Tirupur, swerved the vehicle but lost control of the vehicle, hit the motorist, who was thrown off the bridge and fell to death. The bus came to a halt after hitting the side wall. The police said that four bus passengers, who were injured in the accident, were rushed to the Tirupur government hospital.
