Heavy rain continues to lash the hills, storage rises in reservoirs

The Nilgiris recorded 678.20 mm rain (average rainfall was 39.89 mm). The reservoir had 8 mm rain. The reservoir and catchment recorded 66 mm rain. In the last 24 hours that ended at 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday, Coimbatore recorded a total of 529.50 mm rain, and the average rainfall stood at 44.12 mm. With torrential rain in Valparai region and in the catchments of the Parambikulam Aliyar Project (PAP) reservoirs, Sholayar surplussed its FRL of 160 ft.
