Bodies of woman, two children found in farm well

Tirupur: Decomposed bodies of a woman and two children were found in Tirupur on Tuesday night.Barely a week ago, a middle-aged woman committed suicide after throwing two of her children to death. He told the police that the bodies found in the well could be that of his wife and his children. “The woman must be about 30 years old and the children eight to ten years,’’ said a police officer. Now, the death of three people of similar nature – a woman and two children – has come to light much to the shock of public in the locality. Police said he would be taken to the government hospital to identify the bodies after postmortem.A week ago, a woman from Tirupur had pushed her two children into the well at Poomalur and later committed suicide by self-immolating.

Police suspect that this could also be a case of suicide by the woman, but they are probing the possibility of murder as well.According to police, a foul smell emanated from the irrigation well in the farm of Ponnusamy, 56, a farmer from Kempenagar near Ganapathipalayam in Palladam.When Ponnusamy examined the well, he found the bodies in the well and informed the police. The Palladam police with the help of fire and rescue services personnel fished out the bodies from the well at night. “The woman must be about 30 years old and the children eight to ten years,’’ said a police officer. The bodies were sent to the Palladam government hospital for postmortem, but the police were clueless on the identity of the three.The police have launched a probe to ascertain their identity as well as to find out if they were murdered or it was a case of suicide. Meanwhile, Selvaraj from Mannarai in Tirupur approached the police with a complaint that his wife Nathiya, 30, and children Thirumurugan, 9, and Dharani, 7, were missing for the past three days. He told the police that the bodies found in the well could be that of his wife and his children.
