According to police, the accused assaulted Hariharan and Joshuva after they questioned them about the non-payment of money to customers.

According to police, the accused assaulted Hariharan and Joshuva after they questioned them about the non-payment of money to customers. The victims are beging treated at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH).The company, started a year ago at Vadavalli, has about 40 customers. The customers had deposited from Rs 50,000 to Rs 50 lakh as per schemes, said an employee of company.He said the company had promised the customers to give a portion of their scheme amount after a few months of deposition. However, the cheques given by the company bounced. When customers demanded their money, the owners went underground, said the employee.After this, customers started to target employees of the company. Hariharan and Joshuva confronted the owners and questioned them about the customers’ money. The owners took them to Karthi’s house and beat them up with plastic pipes and threatened them of dire consequences, the employee said. Police have registered a case under sections 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 294 (b) (utters obscene words), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons) and 506(ii) (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
