Coimbatore: Deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam said the recent income tax searches in the properties of a leading road contractor and noonmeal egg supplier had nothing to do with AIADMK. Toeing the line of chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami that the searches were only to ensure tax compliance, OPS , who was in Coimbatore on Thursday for a health check up in an Ayurveda hospital, said it was wrong to associate the party with the income tax department action. “The searches conducted by the IT department have to do with tax evasion and not a political party,” he said.To a query on AIADMK’s stand with regard to the no confidence motion against the BJP government, OPS said a decision would be taken after the CM returns to Chennai on Friday.
