Special weekly camps to help regularization of plots, layouts

Coimbatore: Regularization of unapproved plots and layouts will soon become easier with town planning officials conducting special camps every week. The officials were also asked to speed up the process in order to ensure that all plots are regularised within the deadline. “We will special camps every week to facilitate the same.”Sites owners have been requested to upload documents to the website www.tnlayout.reg.in and submit a copy of registration letter to the concerned officials at the zonal office. The state government has revised the deadline for the second time, providing an extension of six months till November 3, 2018. After that, sites could not be authorized as per the current norms,” an official said.Site owners could get building approvals only after authorizing the plots, the officials said.At the meeting, Gopalakrishnan directed town planning officials to create awareness about the need to regularise plots among the public at the field level.

According to officials, there are 33,837 unauthorized plots in the city.The decision to conduct special camps was taken at a meeting conducted by the deputy director (planning), Gopalakrishnan, to review the progress of regularization of unapproved plots and layouts at the corporation office here on Friday.The meeting was attended by town planning officials from Coimbatore, Tirupur and Erode, and local planning officials.According to officials, about Rs 30.51 crore was collected as developmental charges in Coimbatore, where a total of 3,186 plot owners have submitted documents for site approval.While the approval was given to 1,904 site owners, the remaining 1,282 were directed to submit complete documents, the officials said.“The authorization of sites was started in May 2017. The state government has revised the deadline for the second time, providing an extension of six months till November 3, 2018.
