He opened the shop on Monday morning only to find that gold jewellery worth around ? 75,000 was stolen. The Nilgiris district police are continuing investigations into a theft committed at a jewellery store near Emerald on the intervening night between Sunday and Monday. On investigation, police personnel from the Manjoor police station found that the culprits had first broken into a tea shop next door by breaking open the steel shutters before boring a hole through a wall to gain access to the jewellery store. A special team had been formed to solve the case, top district police officials here said. Police said that the complainant, C. Rakesh, was running the store along with a few family members.
