Edu dept reschedules NEET coaching classes after teachers, students protest

However, it drew criticism from students and teachers as the classes were started amid the quarterly examination and before the main paper evaluation.The examinations for the higher secondary classes were conducted from September 10 to 22. “Both the students and teachers were affected due to the unplanned schedule of the department,” a government school teacher told TOI.Subsequently, the department cancelled the classes on 22, 23, 29 and 30. It will affect the students, who have selected courses other than medicine,” a teacher said. On that day, Class XI students will be taking Physics examination and Class XII students, Chemistry examination.Pointing out that 4,130 higher secondary school teachers were involved in training classes scheduled throughout the holidays, teachers said that they do not have sufficient time to complete the paper evaluation.

Coimbatore: The school education department has cancelled the weekend NEET coaching classes from September 22 to 30 after the schedule drew flak from students and teachers.The department, along with a private institution, had launched the special classes to train Class XI and XII students for NEET and JEE from September 15 at 413 blocks across Tamil Nadu. However, it drew criticism from students and teachers as the classes were started amid the quarterly examination and before the main paper evaluation.The examinations for the higher secondary classes were conducted from September 10 to 22. Teachers could use the weekends to complete paper evaluation, an official with the department said.Meanwhile, teachers said that this year, it will be difficult for them to complete the syllabus and conduct review classes before the public examinations as the department had directed the schools not to conduct any sort of special classes during the quarterly examination holidays. “Usually, we complete a couple of chapters in each syllabus apart from completing the record books. But this year, it should be done during the working days. It will affect the students, who have selected courses other than medicine,” a teacher said.
