Bizman killed as bike knocks him down on Sathy Road

Coimbatore: A 60-year-old businessman was killed after a speeding motorcycle hit him on Sathy Road while he was trying to cross the road on Tuesday morning. “Sundarrajan reached Sathy Road in his car and parked the vehicle near a restaurant and attempted to cross the road to board his friend’s car, which was parked on the opposite side of the road,” an investigation officer said.Suddenly, a speeding motorcycle knocked down Sundarrajan, who fell on the road and suffered severe head injuries. He died on the spot.The motorcycle rider, identified as D Praveenkumar, 24, of Sengodampalayam in Erode, also suffered severe injuries and he was taken to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH). Police said Sundarrajan and his fried were planning to go to Perumal temple at Karattumedu. Police said Praveenkumar was employed with an IT firm.When alerted, TIW police sent Sundarrajan’s body to the CMCH for postmortem.

The motorcycle rider has also sustained severe injuries and is battling for life at the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH).The deceased was identified as S Sundarrajan, of Sengupta Street at Ramnagar. He was engaged in garment business.According to the traffic investigation wing (East) of the city police, the incident took place while he was heading to a temple at Karattumedu with his friend. “Sundarrajan reached Sathy Road in his car and parked the vehicle near a restaurant and attempted to cross the road to board his friend’s car, which was parked on the opposite side of the road,” an investigation officer said.Suddenly, a speeding motorcycle knocked down Sundarrajan, who fell on the road and suffered severe head injuries. He died on the spot.The motorcycle rider, identified as D Praveenkumar, 24, of Sengodampalayam in Erode, also suffered severe injuries and he was taken to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH). His health condition is said to be critical. Police said Praveenkumar was employed with an IT firm.When alerted, TIW police sent Sundarrajan’s body to the CMCH for postmortem. After the autopsy, the body was handed over to his family members in the afternoon. Police said Sundarrajan and his fried were planning to go to Perumal temple at Karattumedu.
