Coimbatore: Private companies can soon verify details of their newly-recruited employees online through the crime and criminal tracking network and systems (CCTNS), a comprehensive system for effective policing through e-governance by integrating crime data and records from police stations across the country into a core application software.As per reports, the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) is likely to introduce the option for online job verification in its website in three weeks. Private employers can apply online for verification of their newly-recruited employees and download the certificate. They have to, however, shell out Rs 1,000 per verification.In the present system, private companies have to submit details of their employees to police and get a no-objection certificate by paying Rs 1,000. “Private companies will provide us details and address of their employees and the same will be sent to respective police stations. A cop will then be deployed to gather information about the employees and submit details to the office of the commissioner of police. The details will be crosschecked by the intelligence section officers and later it will be verified through CCTNS. If the employees have any criminal record, the certificate will mention the same. The entire process, however, would take at least a month’s time,” a police source said.The new system would take just a week to complete the entire verification process. “The private companies should get the approval from their employees and upload the same on our website. Our men will verify the details and find out whether they were involved in any criminal case previously. The certificate will have mention of type of case against them,” a senior police officer, who didn’t want to be named, said.People, who are looking to hire cooks and drivers, could also apply for verification of prospective candidates. “We will provide individual verification certificate also as some companies ask employees to produce the same. An individual can apply online and get the certificate by paying Rs 500,” the officer said.
