Outfits stage protests on Babri Masjid demolition anniversary

As many as 92 members from Bharat Sena were also arrested for attempting to besiege the railway junction. Coimbatore: Three Muslim outfits staged protests in front of the south taluk offices at Athupalam and Peelamedu on Thursday, on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition.As many as 750 people, including 200 women from Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK), staged a protest in front of the south taluk office. Police arrested 127 protesters. The protesters demanded the Supreme Court to pronounce the judgement over the demolition.Members of Manithaneya Makkal Katchi (MMK) attempted to besiege the city airport.

Police arrested some of the protesters.Meanwhile, as many as 127 members of Hindu Bharat Sena, including 16 women, attempted to block a train at the Coimbatore Railway Junction, condemning the union government for not taking steps to construct a temple at Ram Janmabhoomi. Police arrested 127 protesters. They were let off later. As many as 92 members from Bharat Sena were also arrested for attempting to besiege the railway junction.
