Udumalpet GH will get the facility soon,” the official added.The CM also inaugurated a new building at Madathukulam GH, which was built at a cost of Rs 1.67crore. “We will hold meeting with available surgeons and anaesthetists soon.

With this, Uthukuli GH will be seventh taluk hospital to conduct the surgeries after Udumalpet, Dharapuram, Palladam, Kangeyam, Avinashi, and Madathukulam. Facilities including in-patient wards, obstetrics and gynaecology ward, post-operation wards, doctors and nurses stations, visitors’ hall, canteen and storeroom were set up at the cost of Rs 1.5crore,” he said.Comprehensive emergency obstetric and newborn care (Cemonc) facility is provided in three hospitals, including the Tirupur District Headquarters Hospital, GHs in Udumalpet and Dharapuram. “Sick newborn care unit (SNCU) that provides advance treatment to the babies born with medical complications has been established in Tirupur and Dharapuram hospital. Udumalpet GH will get the facility soon,” the official added.The CM also inaugurated a new building at Madathukulam GH, which was built at a cost of Rs 1.67crore. The hospital now has 57 beds.
