Coimbatore: The three-member committee set up to scrutinize applications for four administrative posts, including that of the registrar and director of the school of distance education, at the Bharathiar University has finished processing the applications and submitted the list of eligible candidates, said university sources.They said the committee has submitted the list of eligible candidates in sealed covers and they would be opened in the presence of the principal secretary to higher education department who is also the convener of the vice-chancellor committee of the university, later this month. “After that, further procedures to fill the posts will be initiated,” said a university official, who didn’t want to be named.The committee was set up at the syndicate meeting held on December 24. The university had earlier received applications for six vacant administrative posts - registrar, controller of examinations, dean of college development council, director of the school of distance education, academic staff college director and public relations officer (PRO).Of these, the post of PRO involves a roster issue and that of the academic staff college director involves a legal issue, the source said. “So, the applications for the two posts would not be processed for now.”
