On Saturday, Ramasamy had staged a protest at RS Puram, demanding the city corporation officials to remove the banner. Selvaraj and Karthi fought with RS Puram police sub-inspector Chellamani, asking him to remove the banner. But after police officers requested them, the duo shifted Ramasamy from the place in a car. The city police on Sunday registered a case against two men for damaging a flex banner put up by AIADMK functionaries near Head Post office at RS Puram that welcomed people to the jallikattu event at Chettipalayam Police identified them as Selvaraj and Karthi, supporters of social activist ‘Traffic’ Ramasamy. Police registered a case against Selvaraj and Karthi under sections 294 (b), 353, and 505 (b) of the Indian Penal Code after Chellamani lodged a complaint.
