Presiding, polling officers undergo training

Coimbatore: As many as 14 ,746 presiding officers and polling officers underwent training to operate electronic voting machines (EVMs), control units and voter-verifiable paper audit trail (VVPATs) at various palaces in the district on Sunday. Pollachi parliament constituency has 1,784 polling stations. Palladam, Madauthukulam and Udumalpet assembly constituencies are in Tirupur district.TNN Coimbatore parliament constituency has six assembly constituencies including Coimbatore North, Coimbatore South, Sulur, Kavundampalayam, Singanallur and Palladam, and has 2,044 polling stations.Pollachi parliament constituency covers six assembly constituencies including Pollachi, Valparai, Kinathukadavu, Thondamuthur, Madauthukulam and Udumalpet. The second and third phases of the training will be held on April 6 and April 13.Collector K Rajamani inspected the places where training programmes were conducted by election officials.
