PM Narendra Modi to campaign in Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: BJP candidate for Coimbatore Lok Sabha constituency C P Radhakrishnan on Monday said prime minister Narendra Modi would visit the district soon for election campaign.Radhakrishnan, who filed his nomination papers on Monday, said the date for Modi’s visit was yet to be finalized. “The state government is planning to construct a flyover from Uppilipalayam to SITRA junction. Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam and DMDK leader Premalatha Vijayakanth will also campaign for me.”One of his poll promises is to construct a flyover from Uppilipalayam to Neelambur to decongest Avinashi Road. Steps would be taken to extend the flyover till Neelambur. This would help reduce traffic congestion that might arise in the next 10 years.”The former Coimbatore MP was accompanied by BJP state general secretary Vanathi Srinivasan, district party president R Nandakumar and AIADMK MLAs Amman K Arjunan and P R G Arunkumar to the district collectorate to file nomination papers.
