Coimbatore: Sleuths attached to Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) arrested a 49-year-old deputy surveyor of Sulur Taluk office on Tuesday evening for taking a bribe of Rs 24,000 from a person for sub-division of land at Kannampalayam.The arrested was identified as R Venkatachalapathi, 49, of Sundarapuram. According to a DVAC official, Bala Dhandapani, 62, of KR Puram had approached the officer for sub-division of the 12 cents land and another 5,600sqft land he had bought at Kannampalayam in his name and his wife’s name.
