Labor Unions protest against privatization, agriculture farm bill 2020

Members of Centre of India Trade Union (CITU) and All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) and others took part in the protest against the bill.

Labor Unions on Monday came together to protest against the recent amendment done by Center in labor laws, privatization of government sectors and new ordinances in agriculture farm bill.

As per the labor union the Center and state should pay INR 7,500 per month for April, May and June to workers of unorganized sector, whose livelihood was battered due to the lockdown, also demanding the retrenchment and pay cuts to be stopped.

The protestors also opposed the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill and Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm services Bill- which they termed as against the farmers of country.

Member of Center of Indian Trade Union (CITU) and All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), All India Central Council of Trade Union (AICCTU) and other unions also took part in the protest held at the collector, unorganized sector workers welfare board office and various other locations. The protestors also burned the copies of the bills at Thadagam.
