Three people booked for blocking government official’s work

The three are booked under section 353, assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty of Indian Penal Code. 

The Tirupur district police on Friday registered a case against three people for obstructing a superintending engineer of the Tamil Nadu generation and Distribution Corporation limited (Tangedco) discharge her official duties at Eripalayam near Udumalpet.

The accused identified as Vallinayagam of Teachers Colony at Rajapalayam, Muruganantham of Uralpatti in Udumalpet and Eswarasamy of Udumalpet.

As per the statement of police officials ‘’Muruganantham had filed a petition under the Right to information (RTI) Act after failing to get power connection in his farm land. After no response he visited the office of superintending engineer Tamilselvi last Tuesday along with the other two men and confronted her’’.

However on Friday, Tamilselvi accompanied by 40 Tangedco staff reached the Udumalpet police station and lodged a complaint against the trio. The men are booked under section 353, assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty of Indian Penal Code.
