Covid-19 cases spike in Coimbatore

Coimbatore district recorded 2101 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Friday, pushing the total number of cases past the 90,000 mark to 90,454.

Coimbatore district recorded 2101 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Friday, pushing the total number of cases past the 90,000 mark to 90,454.

The active cases tally stands at 10,460, while 1491 patients were discharged from treatment centres.

The cumulative death toll has reached 746 after six deaths were reported in the district. The deaths included five men and one woman, who were undergoing treatment for COVID-19.

The district has 908 vacant beds (oxygen beds, non-oxygen beds and ICU beds) in government and private hospitals A total of 198 beds were vacant in the COVID-19 care centres (CCC).
