Coimbatore is facing a severe shortage of Covaxin vaccines, due to which the recipients would have to wait longer to get their second dose.

The situation is so bad that vaccine stocks have dried up in all the private hospitals of the Coimbatore district, even government institutions have suspended vaccination sessions due to the shortage. Sources said none of the private hospitals in Coimbatore hosted a vaccination drive since May 1.
