In a shocking case of cruelty, a 95-year-old woman was allegedly kept locked in the toilet for nearly 15 days by her son and not even given food. This case pertains to the woman`s house located in the Salem district of Tamil Nadu.

Police said that when the neighbours heard the cries of the elderly woman, they informed the district administration, after which she was rescued on Sunday.

He told that the elderly woman has four sons; however, after being rescued from home, she was brought to an NGO, where she was given food. The elderly woman is undergoing treatment.

On receiving a complaint that the elderly woman was forcibly locked in the toilet by her son, a team of police and social welfare department officials reached the flat in the Dalmiya Board area, Omalur. The team found the woman lying in the toilet, which was in a very dirty condition.

Police said the victim woman, identified as Radha, allegedly survived by drinking only toilet water. Radha lived on the pension received after the death of her husband, which was taken away by her youngest son.

He told that even after such inhuman treatment, the woman was not ready to file a complaint against her son.
