Coimbatore, Oct 4 (PTI) A leopardess, trapped in a snare in a farm in Nilgiris district and rescued by the Forest Department a couple of days ago, died on Tuesday, sources in the department said.The animal, said to be 3 years old, was caught in the snare and was struggling on Saturday. Forest officials rescued the leopardess and provided it under treatment, but it died, said the sources.Meanwhile, police are on the lookout for the farm owner, who had allegedly laid the trap to catch wild boars.
