Water level in Siruvani inches close to dead storage mark
- | Thursday | 29th June, 2017
The Reservoir’s dead storage level is 863.40 metre above the mean sea level. The rain had also resulted in the water level going up from 12 feet below the dead storage level to three feet now. Cincona and Chinna Kallar recorded over 100 mm rain and Valparai PAP and Valparai Taluk Office an mm or two mm short of the 100 mm mark. If the rain continued with the same intensity, the Corporation expected the water level to rise above the dead storage on Thursday or Friday. Continuous rain in the last few days and resultant flow of water from catchments into the Siruvani Reservoir is pushing up the water level, which as of Wednesday morning is just three feet below the dead storage level.
