Gang robs Rs 1.55L from Tasmac staff

Both Murugesh and Ayyasamy suffered cut injuries on their legs.The passers-by took the duo to the Pollachi government hospital. Police suspect that the robbery might be connected with a similar incident that took place in Annur police station limit last week. A special team has been formed to probe both the cases. They took the money and left the spot. The Negamam police have registered a case.

Coimbatore: A gang of four unidentified people robbed two Tasmac liquor shop salesmen of Rs 1.55 lakh after waylaying and assaulting them on Panapatti - Vadachittur Road on Wednesday night.The salesmen, B Murugesh, 41, from VOC Street, and P Ayyasamy, 37, from Mootampalayam near Negamam, were returning to their home in a motorcycle with day's collection from the Tasmac outlet at Panapatti on the outskirts of the city.The gang which came in two motorcycles stopped the duo and attacked them with sickles.
