Coimbatore: The woman, who on Wednesday attempted to murder her daughter-in-law for attending a marriage function without her permission, was arrested at Athupalayam in Somanur here on Thursday.The arrested was identified as P Valliammal, 65. Monika was later admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital with head and throat injuries. Valliammal did not attend the function, while Sureshkumar and Monika attended the marriage without getting permission from Valliammal.Following this, Valliammal fought with Monika and assaulted her using a sickle. She had assaulted her son Sureshkumar's wife S Monika, 25 with a sickle, injuring her head and throat.According to the police, Valliammal wasn't in good terms with her younger sister Kulandaiammal following some dispute over partition of land.Kulandaiammal, however, recently invited Valliammal, Sureshkumar and Monika for her daughter's marriage.
