Cabinet nod to Rs 900 crore drinking water projects in Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: The state cabinet on Wednesday approved six rural piped water supply projects worth Rs 900 crore set to come up in various districts.Sources said a drinking water supply project each would be taken up in Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur and four other four projects would be implemented in mining-affected Jajpur, Keonjhar and Sundargarh districts. "There are concerns about the presence of fluoride in water in Narasinghapur and Badamba blocks of Cuttack. There are reports of the saline content in water being more than the permissible limit in Jagatsinghpur district," said chief secretary A P Padhi.
