Cuttack steps to contain spread of jaundice

CUTTACK: Thirty blood samples were collected by the Cuttack Municipal Corporation from jaundice-hit areas here on Tuesday.Altogether 25 people have been detected with jaundice in Siddheswar Sahi, Mansing Patana, Ramgarh and Maskri lane in ward no. The corporation has also carried out awareness drives in the area and regularly registering the number of patients in the area. "Three teams are regularly monitoring the situation and garbage is being lifted while desiltation of drains is also going on," said CMC commissioner Bikash Mohapatra . No new case was detected on Tuesday.Use of contaminated drinking water due to leakage in pipelines close to drains is said to be the cause behind the resurgence of the water-borne disease in the city.
