Silver City stops to soak in festive spirit

CUTTACK: The Millennium City soaked in religious fervour on Saturday as Rath Yatra was celebrated with pomp and grandeur at 20 Jagannath temples. The Ranihat temple authorities have spent Rs 20 lakh on Rath Yatra preparations.Chariot pulling at Chandni Chowk and Dolamundai was peaceful. The major crowd pullers were the Jagannath temples at Chandni Chowk Dolamundai and Ranihat.Braving the rains, people gathered at the temples to pull the chariots. Artistes performed ' Banati ', 'Ghoda Nach' and Odissi dance in front of the chariots at Chandni Chowk. The rituals started in time and chariots were pulled smoothly at the three places.

The Ranihat temple authorities have spent Rs 20 lakh on Rath Yatra preparations.Chariot pulling at Chandni Chowk and Dolamundai was peaceful. Artistes performed ' Banati ', 'Ghoda Nach' and Odissi dance in front of the chariots at Chandni Chowk. The highlight of the day was the celebration at Dolamundai. At the temple, the chariot of Devi Subhadra is exclusively pulled by women.
