“We are yet to get any complete picture of the assets seized as the raids are still on,” said a senior vigilance official. CUTTACK: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday nabbed a junior clerk posted in the office of superintendent of SCB Medical College and Hospital, for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from a man.Vigilance officials said one Rohit Nayak had complained to them that Dilip Rout, the accused clerk, was demanding Rs 5000 from him for clearing his grandmother's arrears, who is a retired employee of SCB. The raids were carried out at Sunil Das' residence Tulasipur, at his father-in-law's house located at Jamsara village in Dhenkanal district, one of his relative’s house located at Reserve Police Line, his office chamber located inside the CDMO office and at CMC’s office.Till the filling of the report, the raid was on. After receiving the complaint, vigilance officials laid a trap to nab Rout.On Wednesday, when Nayak went to the SCB’s superintendent office to pay the bribe amount to Rout, the vigilance officials already present at the spot in plain clothes nabbed him.“As the accused has been caught red-handed accepting the bribe amount, we arrested him immediately,” said a vigilance official.A case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against Rout.Besides, the vigilance team conducted a search at his residence in CDA and official quarter located inside SCB premises to find out if he has accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.In another development, the vigilance sleuths carried out raids on the residence and office of a junior clerk posted in the chief district medical office (CDMO) Cuttack for allegedly accumulating ill-gotten money.Vigilance conducted raids simultaneously at five places.
