The innovative museum has been created to inspire youths and inculcate thinking in them to foresee future technological needs and develop skills to meet the demand.Different varieties of skill bases machineries, innovations, sculptures and equipments have been displayed in the interesting museum. The museum, spread over 2600 square feet, aims to provide information about different skills to students and inspires them to think differently.After inaugurating the museum, Patnaik said the Skill museum will connect ancient skills to modern skills and will urge youths to acquire skills to meet the needs of future.The chief minister also announced on the occasion that such Skill Museum concept will be rolled out in it is across the state to motivate youths. “The era of mere domain skill acquisition is gone. Now, this is time to inculcate design thinking in the minds of our youths,” said Patnaik.Many structures and utility products prepared with waste have been showcased in the museum that encourages people to think out of the box. A state- of- the-art exhibition area and an auditorium have been constructed along with the museum a cost of Rs 73 lakh.The museum has been set up by skill development and technical education department. Minister of the department, Usha Devi said the museum is a pilot project to promote skills through ITI.“The state government wants best employers of the country to look for talent in Odisha’s industrial training institutes and the museum is a step towards it,” said the minister.On the occasion, Odisha Skill Development Authority Chariman, Subroto Bagchi said,“It is a matter of pride for us that India’s first Skill Museum has come up in an Industrial training institute in Cuttack .
