Woman with unnaturally large hand hopes for cure at SCB

Year after year, it kept growing till she could not even walk without support.Her unnaturally large palm forced her to quit studies.The Rayagada administration intervened to help her after her plight was reported by a section of the media. Mita, accompanied by her elder sister Kumari, reached SCB on Monday and was admitted in the plastic surgery department.A P Patnaik, head of the department, said a team would be formed for Mita's treatment. "We will have to carry out tests to find out the cause behind the unnatural growth," he said. The Rayagada administration will bear all costs.Mita is hopeful of being cured. "I have been suffering for years. I hope the doctors at SCB will cure me," she said.
