Six-year-old rape survivor's condition critical

CUTTACK: Condition of a six-year-old rape survivor from Bhubaneswar continues to be critical in SCB Medical College and Hospital here.The girl is being treated in paediatric intensive care unit of SCB from Tuesday night after being referred from Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. Nothing can be said right now," added Maharana.Commissioner of police Satyajit Mohanty on Thursday visited the survivor and inquired about her health. "Required medicines are being given to her and we are regularly monitoring her condition. "The expert team is doing everything possible to stabilise her condition," informed SCB's emergency officer Bhuban Maharana.Her blood pressure and heartbeat are being observed on a regular basis.

She was rescued in an unconscious state from her home at Sabar Sahi slum of Bhubaneswar after allegedly being raped by her uncle.An eight-member expert team has been formed for the treatment of the girl. "The expert team is doing everything possible to stabilise her condition," informed SCB's emergency officer Bhuban Maharana.Her blood pressure and heartbeat are being observed on a regular basis. "Required medicines are being given to her and we are regularly monitoring her condition. She will be under observation for next 72 hours. Mishra said he has asked the officials concerned to arrange compensation for the girl.The statement of the accused has been recorded by Child Welfare Commitee, Cuttack. His medical test is over, said DCP, Bhubaneswar, Anup Sahoo.
