Superhit Baliyatra sees business of Rs 125 crore

Naturally, the business transacted was also very high," said collector (Cuttack) Aravind Agarwal Besides those from the state, traders from West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh , Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya and Mizoram had set up stalls at Baliyatra.

A total of 52 lakh people visited the fair this time.The district administration erected around 1,400 stalls at the fair, which celebrates the rich maritime legacy of the state. The administration earned revenue of over Rs 1 crore as rental charge from traders. Besides those from the state, traders from West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh , Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya and Mizoram had set up stalls at Baliyatra."Every year, the business at the fair goes up. This year, we extended it from seven days to 10. Naturally, the business transacted was also very high," said collector (Cuttack) Aravind Agarwal
