Government clears proposals to create 6000 jobs

The group will invest Rs 125 crore and create 550 jobs. Omjay EV Limited’s proposal to set up an electric vehicle manufacturing unit at Jajpur worth Rs 52.41 crore was also approved. It also cleared another proposal of HIL Limited, another central PSU, for a Rs 100-crore agrochemicals manufacturing unit at Chatrapur in Ganjam. It will also provide high-end accommodation facilities for tourists.In the IT sector, two proposals were cleared. It will invest Rs 100 crore and engage 1,560 people.

BHUBANESWAR: The state level single window clearance authority ( SLSWCA ), led by chief secretary A P Padhi, on Friday cleared investment proposals worth Rs 1,177 crore, which will create employment opportunities for 6,031 people.The approved projects are from various sectors, including sanitary ware, food processing, hospitality, electronics manufacturing, IT services and chemicals, said an official source.The approved projects include Hindustan Sanitaryware Industries Limited’s proposal to set up a glass container manufacturing unit in Cuttack by investing Rs 350 crore. It will generate 1,200 jobs.The SLSWCA also gave its nod to Odisha-based Om Oil and Flour Mills Ltd (makers of Ruchi brand of spices) for a unit to produce spices, pasta, noodles, fruit-based beverages at Ramdaspur, Cuttack. It will invest Rs 100 crore and engage 1,560 people. Omjay EV Limited’s proposal to set up an electric vehicle manufacturing unit at Jajpur worth Rs 52.41 crore was also approved. It will manufacture e-rickshaws and e-scooters. This will create job opportunities for 122 people. The chief secretary-led panel also cleared Hindalco’s proposal to establish a coal gasification unit in its existing plant at Hirakud in Sambalpur with an investment of Rs 60 crore. This will create 20 employment opportunities.In a boost to tourism sector in the state, the Mayfair Groups plan for a golf resort at Satapada in Puri also got green signal. The group will invest Rs 125 crore and create 550 jobs. It will also provide high-end accommodation facilities for tourists.In the IT sector, two proposals were cleared. These include a Rs 75-crore cellular handset and accessories company by Jaipur-based StarGSM Upakaran Peripherals and a software unit by Hyderabad-based C-TEL by investing Rs 65 crore. Both the projects would come up at the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster at Infovalley near the state capital and together generate 2,030 employment avenues.The SLSWCA also gave its nod for the Rs 250 crore biomass ethanol plant at Bargarh by central PSU Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited. Employment potential of the project is 200. It also cleared another proposal of HIL Limited, another central PSU, for a Rs 100-crore agrochemicals manufacturing unit at Chatrapur in Ganjam. This will lead to creation of 350 jobs.
