CMC restricts wedding gathering to 100 guests in Cuttack

In view of gross violations of safety norms and the recent surge in the Covid-19 cases in the city and state, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has issued a fresh set of guidelines on Saturday.

In view of gross violations of safety norms and the recent surge in the Covid-19 cases in the city and state, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has issued a fresh set of guidelines on Saturday (April 3) that will take effect from April 6. The governing body tightened the current restrictions for social gatherings like wedding, death rituals, funerals, and other social types of gathering.

The maximum number of people allowed in a wedding-related event has been capped at 100, while a cap of 50 people has been set for death-related functions.

Events and gatherings related to promotional activities, conferences, conclaves, centenary, golden jubilee, silver jubilee. celebrations of institutions have been prohibited.

For other kinds of social gatherings, the host shall have to obtain specific permission from CMC, which will be given keeping in view the requirement of host and prevailing pandemic situation subject to maximum participants ceiling of 100 persons.

Yesterday, similar guidelines were issued by the BMC in the capital city of Bhubneswar.
