Orissa HC files suo moto case against CBSE official

"The court was dissatisfied with the manner in which CBSE made statements in media about the case and the court's verdict. Hearing of the case is on and CBSE could have cited its contentions in court. Taking strong note of it, the court has filed contempt case against the CBSE official," said petitioner's counsel Asim Amitabh Dash.Meanwhile, petitions of seven more Class XII students seeking for re-evaluation of their answer sheets were taken up for hearing by the court on Tuesday. While hearing the pleas, the court has asked CBSE authorities to submit before it answer sheets and details of the outcome of re-evaluation of the 18 students, whose answer scripts were re-evaluated by board in pursuance of high court's order.The next hearing of the case will be held on Wednesday.Notably, the high court in first phase on June 7 had directed CBSE to re-evaluate answer sheets of 18 class XII students and on June 13, the high court had provided similar relief to 159 more students.
