CUTTACK: The Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) will get a new office soon. Authorities have identified a piece of land near Sati Choura for the new office. The project will be completed in a public private partnership (PPP) mode."We don't have enough funds to construct a new office building, so it has been decided that private players will be roped in for the project. We will provide land while the private agency will construct the building and provide us our share of area," said the secretary of CDA, Kabindra Sahoo.Sahoo said tenders for selecting appropriate agencies for the project will be floated soon. Sources said the vice-chairman of CDA is at present on leave and once he resumes office, the project will be taken up on a priority basis.CDA officials said a plot of land measuring over 5,000 square feet has been identified for the new office and a four storey building will be constructed on it. We will try our best to strike a good deal, said a senior official of the CDA.The existing office of the CDA at Arunodaya Nagar is in a dilapidated state. Due to lack of proper maintenance, condition of the four-decade-old building is in shambles. The present office premises are spread over two acres. While the CDA uses a portion for its office, the remaining space has been rented out to different government offices and banks. As the condition of the structure is not good, a majority of the tenants have vacated the premises. "Chunks of ceiling are falling in while in monsoon, seepage occurs through the wall," said a CDA official on condition of anonymity.
