First batch of pilgrims for Kailash Mansarovar yatra to reach Kathgodam on June 12

Apart from the four medical posts, 20 medical teams will travel with the pilgrims. The devotees will leave for Narayan Swami Ashram from the KMVN base camp in Dharchula on June 13. Next stop of the group will be in Bundi followed by Naabi village on foot. Each team will have a doctor and a ward-boy to extend help in case of medical emergencies. NAINITAL: Preparations for Kailash Mansarovar yatra via Kumaon division of Uttarakhand have been completed with the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN), the nodal agency conducting the pilgrimage getting ready to host the first group of pilgrims on June 12.The yatra will begin from New Delhi on June 8 and the first pilgrim batch will arrive in Kumaon a few days later.This year, for the first time, KMVN is planning to airlift pilgrims from Pithoragarh to Gunji as the connecting road could not be repaired on time and is not ready for vehicle movement. However, officials said that they are trying hard to get the road repaired in time for the yatra season.Trilok Singh Martolia, general manager of KMVN said, “Preparations for the yatra have been done and 50 officials along with workers from various departments, including health, tourism have been assigned tasks to oversee the hassle free passage through Kumaon.”Pilgrims are scheduled to arrive in Kathgodam on June 12 from where they will be taken to Almora. The devotees will leave for Narayan Swami Ashram from the KMVN base camp in Dharchula on June 13. Next stop of the group will be in Bundi followed by Naabi village on foot. Indo-Tibet Border Police will look after the medical facilities from Gunji to Lipulekh pass. A make-shift hospital has already been constructed by the ITBP for pilgrims.”Total 18 groups will take part in the pilgrimage to the revered lake this season in which every group will include total 60 pilgrims while through Sikkim 10 groups will travel including 50 pilgrims each.
