Yoga at Kedarnath: Devotees, authorities perform yoga at 11,500 feet

“After retirement, I had a dream of coming to the revered shrine with my family and this year, I got the opportunity. Braving the tough weather conditions, people and district officers and police personnel gathered outside the revered shrine to perform yoga in testing conditions.The session was held on the extended platform of the temple. The total number comprised district officers, police personnel, volunteers from Patanjali and devotees,” said the district officer.Dehradun resident SK Benjwal, who was at Kedarnath, said that it was a heartening experience for him. “With cold breeze from all side, doing yoga at 11,500 feet above the ground level was an experience which I and my friends will never forget,” said Kohli. Fortunately, my wife and children also got the opportunity to perform yoga and we all are were pleased.

DEHRADUN: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, when the eyes of the world were fixed on the event at Dehradun which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi , a small group of devotees, officers and volunteers of Patanjali performed yoga at Kedarnath . Braving the tough weather conditions, people and district officers and police personnel gathered outside the revered shrine to perform yoga in testing conditions.The session was held on the extended platform of the temple. Giving the information, district magistrate Rudraprayag Mangesh Ghildiyal told TOI, “It will be difficult to tell the exact number but the gathering was around 100-150 people. The total number comprised district officers, police personnel, volunteers from Patanjali and devotees,” said the district officer.Dehradun resident SK Benjwal, who was at Kedarnath, said that it was a heartening experience for him. “After retirement, I had a dream of coming to the revered shrine with my family and this year, I got the opportunity. Fortunately, my wife and children also got the opportunity to perform yoga and we all are were pleased. We will continue this practice even after returning to Dehradun,” he said.For Kanpur resident Himanshu Kohli the experience was a mesmerizing one. “With cold breeze from all side, doing yoga at 11,500 feet above the ground level was an experience which I and my friends will never forget,” said Kohli.
