Wheat seed scam: SIT seeks NBW against absconding officials

SIT chief, ASP Devendra Peencha, said that the accused have not been nabbed despite police raiding their several whereabouts. We will also apply for a proclamation notice under section 82 of the Indian Penal Code against them, Peencha added.In July last year, an FIR was lodged against 10 USTDC officials, including one deceased, with the Pantnagar police station following a complaint lodged by USTDC senior administrative officer C K Singh. Rudrapur: Three absconding accused of the Rs 16-crore wheat seeds scam of Uttarakhand Seeds and Terai Development Corporation Ltd (USTDC) on Monday faced more heat with the special investigation team (SIT) moving the chief judicial magistrate court seeking non-bailable warrants (NBW) against them.These accused have been on a run since past one week after the high court on July 9 vacated the stay given to them on their arrests.
