Dehradun: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Uttarakhand police probing matters related to the alleged use of forged documents to secure jobs by teachers, has found five fresh cases. While four of them are related to serving teachers, one is of a retired person who reportedly forged date of birth certificates to serve three more years than his actual age.While two matters each are linked to Haridwar and US Nagar districts, one case is of Pithoragarh district. This has taken the total number of such teachers to 48 in the state.Sharing the information, additional superintendent of police (ASP) Shweta Chaubey, who is heading the probe, told TOI, “We have written to the education directorate and passed on all the required documents. We have also asked the education officials to take action in the matter.”She added that while probing the matter it was found that “Magan Singh a teacher in Haridwar had used forged BSc certificates.” “Sushil, who is also a teacher in Haridwar district had used a fake Class X certificate. The high school certificate of Dheeraj Singh, a teacher from US Nagar was found fake and the date of certificate of Ram Sharan was also found incorrect. Using the forged date of birth certificate, Sharan worked for three additional years and has retired now.” Chaubey added that investigations had revealed that Veena Rani’s domicile certificate was also not correct.
